For some years I have thought that the increase in computing power might facilitate government control moving back to the individual states. I'd rather be spied on locally than federally. A more formal "tradable" relationship might then develop and the kinks worked out for a broader system. Never going to happen of course, it would require a top down imposition of a system giving the individual more freedom, not in the best interests of the top. I could go into more detail, the decrepit computer systems, original intent of founders to have state vs state ferret out the best practices, so on. Not a typist.
