Thanks. You've confirmed that Russians and Ukrainians are different linguistic and ethnic groups. You should tell Tenchu that. He thinks they're all Russian, as does his hero, Trump. (That was a dig. I know and am happy that he voted against Trump twice and left the Republican party over him. Pretty much like me.)

Ukraine is a split country, geographically, ethnically and linguistically. Ukrainian in the west and Russian in the east, with a minority of Muslim Tatars in Crimea.

Of course, the real issue is support of democracy or opposition to it. I think we should encourage the development of democratic govts like Ukraine's even if we're not going to intervene to defend them. Ukraine isn't in NATO so we're not obligated to defend them. But we can still offer arms to Ukraine and impose economic sanctions on the aggressor, Russia.

If we don't do anything to support democracies, next we'll be giving the okay to Russia to invade Poland and the rest of Eastern Europe and we'll be back in the Cold War era. You know, the era when a westerner like you wouldn't have ever been to Ukraine.

I'm going to post two articles to you on the subject of standing up for democracy vs giving in to a renewed Soviet empire.
