Funny story about the Lion in Donnie Brasco - he was owned by Lefty and tied up and given over to the police. Sound familiar?

Follow up fan-fiction: The lion is accustomed to eating steak and getting rave attention from Lefty, until he gets too big. The police put him in a small zoo that mistreats him daily. The lion is used to instinct. Instinct felt in his gut. His gut informs him that Lefty has caused this situation - this constant gnawing in his gut that he feels every day.

The lion gets a second chance. The lion is let loose by the people who see the deplorable condition of the zoo. The lion doesn't forget about Lefty and the police who put him in the deplorable zoo.

The people cheered and the lion roared. Lefty and the police hide from him. They know that the lion recognizes them by their smell. The people hunt them down. The lion has their back.
