" mortal lock?"

Recently I read about a very simple system using solid state laser technology. Basically, the fifth harmonic (213 nm) from a Nd:YAG laser is summed with the output (2.1 microns) from an OPO pumped by the same Nd:YAG laser. This sum-frequency generation is a accomplished with a lithium triborate or cesium lithium borate crystal. The output is 193 nm. Its relatively simple technology that is being funded out of the Air Force Wright Laboratory in Ohio.

Are there any experts out there with comments? My experience has primarily been in the use of UV wavelengths for medical applications, primarily ablation.
