It's always been an idiotic disingenuous argument

Of course the more earnings one has the more taxes one pays even if it was just a flat tax rate for everyone and not on a progressive scale

The stupidity of it is trying to portray the wealthy as mistreated and unfairly over-taxed, when we know the wealthier one is then they can afford tax lawyers to play their tax lawyer games to avoid paying their fair share

And as if a person struggling to make ends meet on a $15-20-30 per hour job is somehow getting an advantage because their taxes is much lower nominally but still a big % of what they make.

It's a stupid selfish meme that was probably coined by Grover fucking Norquist, who was born into wealth and never worked a day in his life... aka a selfish greedy bastard... much like TFG
