The “settle in Euros” part is pure propaganda, imo. They can settle in Swiss franks or any other floating currency - what makes the difference is in what currency the seller will want to hold it. That’s will determine the demand for that currency. But - the developing closeness between Russia and China - that is a serious issue. Together, they could seriously undermine America’s international influence.

That said, there would be a silver lining in that - we have more than enough issues to work out at home. It’s not like our overseas engagements did us much good - the Afghan campaign was meant to make sure al Qaeda gets kicked out of that country. Instead, we got stuck in a 20 year war - slash - construction project.
