Well, this week is even better than the last, in that it was actually positive in biotech land. In fact, three quarters of the selected issues gained ground, and all but two portfolios were in the black for the week, with a median performance of +4.2%, outperforming the indices. We will ignore how the abysmal January means that everyone is still in the red for their YTD performance. Cue the cheers and noisemakers!
It must be because the groundhog did/didn’t see their shadow somewhere.
Unfortunately, that prognostication seems to be entirely random, “without a shadow of a doubt.”

Hmm, reminds me of some investment gurus somehow, and I’m thinking of paid pros…
If you look for an explanation for MACK’s great week (and YTD), propelling it back to the levels of last summer … the wisdom of the net is strangely silent. Maybe it can be gleaned from a consultation with the Magic 8 Ball. Or ask MOPGCW, the sole portfolio that included it. Insider buying?
