Debt market is a little more complicated than that but no argument from me about what you said. I guess to answer your rhetorical question " why do people believe.....(fill in the blank)" . I think a lot of the narrative is just to fill space in the news to pretext or rationalize price manipulation. People will believe anything as the last couple years have shown.

A nice spread and the ability to make money on money is good for banks and maybe society in general. The other cliche' is that interest rates can be used to fight inflation.

Chief has voiced the prediction of rates rising with stocks as an indication of "the epicenter of primary wave three to the upside" if I'm not mistaken. That was what my clever subtext was referencing.
