They are regaining status and the earnings should begin to show it. I should direct you to reviewing the earnings experienced when they initially launched their predecesor product. The anticipated life of the Contour will probably not be very long (about 18 months from today), but it should allow Ventritex some lead time in their development of a hot can (a diffibrulator which uses the housing itself to send a charge). There appears to be some controversy over whether a single lead or a duel lead system is prefered. I've contacted some electrophysiologists and they seem to feel that Ventritex's method is prefered because of its flexibility. Based on its current stock price it is still undervalued, but then, most of the market is slow to pick up the true value of a company. Finally, a number of Analysts are placing Ventritex on a Hold status. Its apparent to me that they haven't done the homwork on this one. Size, which is where Ventritex is today, is a critical factor in the decion making process associated with diffibrillator selection.
