Cheeky -

Documented how? Iomega has never made a drive that used a read/write head which made contact with the media surface. Their first product, the Bernoulli drive was so named because it made use of the "Bernoulli effect" which used air pressure created by the rotating disk to keep the head floating just above the surface.

Anyone who tells you that any Iomega disk drive uses heads which make contact with the media just doesn't know what they're talking about.

Iomega's own specifications for Zip and other drives mention something about "modified" Winchester-type heads. Winchester heads also float above the media surface.

I'm curious. What is making you ask this question now?
