Herb, you said >>I have noticed in the past that whenever a company would advertise to the point that it would take my interest their stock price would move up . I have never seen a study to support this but it has been my observation that it happens.<<

I'm sure there are many studies, because companies want to know
whether advertising pays off. It is interesting that some of the
best known brands advertise the most. They just don't stop
because they're already well known.
Coca-Cola is an example. Coke must be the best known brand
in the world. Yet, they keep reminding people. If it didn't
help sales a great deal, they wouldn't do it. In Germany in '96
I saw entire street cars painted with Coke slogans. So I won't
worry about Iomega's ad budget. The ad agencies probably have
shown the company all kinds of studies to support the need for
ads. Strange that some analysts don't seem to know that.

I didn't know you had to see an ad seven times. That should
work in personal relationships also. If you want to convince
the wife you need a Corvette, mention it seven times. <g>

Regards Gottfried
