Just figured out the "Darmok" episode metaphor - spelled in reverse, it's Komrad. Learn to speak the language of the other group to earn respect. I think you guys know all about the kerfuffle on the Bee's thread a while back. I saw what happened. Did you know what started it? I was defending Mq on that thread after the Bee got her nose bent by the same type of tweaking that just happened here. I used his insight as an example. siliconinvestor.com Anyway, it was brave of LindyBill to actually explore the differences in cultures, but there was introspection and science involved. More than anecdotes. I think Putin's speech was pretty good, but has room for improvement. America first for Americans, Russia first for Russians - I agree with that sentiment. Interesting to see fish and chickens segregate themselves. It's innate. But in America, when we gather around an idea, we don't need to segregate. That's America first. Why are there so many immigrants? Rather telling.
