You're missing my point. I agree that a UNIQUE mechanical part (ie a mouse trap, a paper clip, a staple) is patentable. But, today's cars have intake and exhaust manifolds, as well as crank shafts and cam shafts. These guys are talking about MODIFICATIONS to existing mousetraps, not new mousetraps. To me, that sounds difficult to protect (btw I happen to be a mechanical engineer). On that same line of thought, if someone wants to copy it, all they have to do is change a little something (like BAAT is)

This coupled with the small diesel vs gas enging test run and all the hype made me suspicious. I Looked the website over very carefully. Those are some pretty cheezy pictures...not many BAAT logos on the products etc.

Don't get caught up in the hype, and don't bet what you can't afford to loose.
