Perhaps that is the "best" approach for you. The best for me is to limit my contact with other humans- who, let's face it, are pretty disgusting a lot of time, especially when eating and drinking- and to keep the spit I encounter from others to a minimum. I was never a fan of spit, and people spit all the time- when they cough, when they talk, when they breathe heavily- so masks (and face shields) strike me as a terrific option when I do have to be among the disgusting herds. I'm not a fan of humanity and I won't miss them. I can do all the things I want to do sans crowds- and I will. That is "best" for me and how I will get on with my (hopefully) long and pleasant life. (Obviously I totally believe in vaccinations- for everything- and definitely for Covid.)
