I think keeping gold in the Texas State depository is a good idea. Texas has the 2nd largest army (i.e. National Guard) in Nation. Although California is larger, when Texas Secedes every able bodied male between 18 and 60 will become a member of the Texas Dept of Defense. As well as being backed up by all the female gun owners. One factoid. The USS Texas guns were never demilled. It is still able to defend the Galveston port when it is finally moved. Yes it is WWI vintage, but nobody wants to take on battleship guns.
