Rail guns work best in space. Navy was the primary proponent to development due to power requirements. In the 1980's it had promise, but the space is better suited to lasers now. I always thought the flux converter could have been utilized to fit on tanks, but Dr. Brown thought it worked better on a Delorean. But they are producing composite cased ammo now. G-n-G
