Why are we in this fight with Russia….. I suspect, every powerful nation needs credible opposition. There is a real need for powerful defense, no doubt about it. Having a credible enemy keeps people focused, keeps money flowing, think tanks thinking, pols and professors giving talks, journos selling clicks… etc, etc. If there were no Russia, one would need to be invented. In a way, it has been. They’re proven to be afraid of a nuclear war, which makes people think they’re safer than the other leading candidate for the main oppo role, China.
