Justin Castro could very easily [and he might already have got 23andMe done and knows], prove that he's NOT a Castro. Just to shut everyone up, publish his 23andMe family results and hey presto, the rumour mongers will be out of business. Prince Harry could do the same. I sure would do if my ancestry was in question and I was a public figure whose ancestry was an issue.

I remember from our time in Ottawa, living not far from the Trudeaus in the 1970s, that Margaret described herself as an "upfront straight forward chick". I'm pretty sure those are the exact words. Certainly chick and straight forward. I also thought she was out of order going to hang out with the Rolling Stones like a common groupie lined up for sex. I had the same impression of Fergie and Diana, out on the town as young hotties night-clubbing without their husbands. They were not little goody two-shoes. Charles and Andrew were obviously well into their own off piste thrills [with Charles wanting to come back as a tampon so he said to Camilla].

Elizabeth II certainly made the idea of a royal family as head of state a desirable thing. But the next generation are a hopeless self-indulgent lot [Edward seems sensible].

There's something to be said for having a lifelong sovereign whose job it is only to keep the peace, call and hold elections, and provide interim management in the event of deadlocked elections until electoral resolution is achieved. But a simple DNA based hand me down system to the oldest son is not so good. Heck, I'd rather have an elected political hack than dopey Charles as king, who loves nothing more than dabbling in his dotty political ideas such as climate change.
