Do you really think they will allow a legit election after what they have already done?

You are assuming Canadians have no agency. You are assuming the Liberals own the government.

This is not new.

At one time the Liberal party owned every graveyard in Eastern Canada and voted them however they wanted. This was back in the days when, if you were in the wrong political space, the paved road and sewers stopped at your one property line and recommenced at the other, and you were the last person to get electric power.

Nonetheless, they still lost elections.

Trudeau and Freeland are fooled by recent spectacular pictures of Ottawa police harassing folk into thinking they own a national police force. They don't. The RCMP polices under contract to various provincial governments which can cancel.
The two largest provinces, Ontario and Quebec have their own provincial police forces which combined are larger than the RCMP.

Do you think the Premiers of Ontario and Quebec aren't hearing a constant chorus of, "What the hell we sending our police to Ottawa for? My phone's ringing continuously." Shit gets pumped uphill and then flows downhill.

Alberta is going to sue the federal government over imposition of the emergencies act. Saskatchewan is considering it. The Canadian Civil Liberties Association is going to court. I'm quite sure other provincial governments are considering legal action.

Quebec separatists are always ready to complain about 'Canadian federal tyranny' and for once they'll be complaining truthfully.

The dozy judges, even those appointed by the Liberals, are going to find it uncomfortable constantly ducking the slings and arrows tossed about the court of public opinion, and worse, during lunch at the club.

And those noble Knights of Labor, the union reps, (half of whom are NDP political operatives), when they unavoidably have to go to union meetings will happily, joyfully meet the sustained anger and open hostility from their members. Imagine a Teamsters meeting....

And the Liberal and NDP MPs are hearing from lots of their members, "What the hell is going on? I didn't sign up and vote for this shit!"

Happy Times.

The Black Faced Prince and the Wicked Witch are not going to find this an easy walk in the park.
