Privacy is just about dead these days. One should assume that one's bank accounts, brokerage accounts, credit card accounts, cell phone data, and everything you look at and post online is not private and secure.

It's a sad state of affairs, but it is what it is. The most important thing is to be aware of it and live your life accordingly. There are quite a few books on "living off the grid" that contain much useful info..
