We have a running interest in LSI and Brocade on this thread. I did a full text search of "LSI Brocade" and got the following SI references. Interestingly some of Ancor's most prominent anonymous detractors surfaced along with the old rumor that Brocade farmed out their FC-AL work to LSI. Unfortunately, the original SI links don't copy - but here are the references:
For all of the Ancor longs who have been here for a while reference number 8056 is particularly enlightening. It is wilhu instructing me on why 4 ports per ASIC is impossible. I guess he was wrong.

Perhaps , you should learn something from past experience and some update on ASIC wont hurt. I am an ex-network engr turned paper pusher. The best current silicon
technology even with 5 layers metal @0.35 micron will not get you more than 8........... (1150 more chars)
