They don't hurt Putin. They don't harm the Russian economy all that much. Putin already planned for this. He was betting on the likelihood that the response would be utter and complete weaksauce.
If Brandon and his merry Democrats really wanted to take the initiative, they would just flat out cut Russia off from everything. No more trade, no more communications, no nothing.
Then Brandon and the Democrats should do everything possible to mitigate the pain on our end, like you know, resuming domestic energy production. Yes, even the whole EV thingy and the push toward "renewable energy" should be accelerated on the basis of national security.
And yes, such moves might also upset China, who clearly wants to be on Russia's side without having to pay the piper. F 'em, if they want to trade with Russia, we can restart the trade war with China, only this time we'll fight that trade war like we should be fighting any other war. We will fight to win.
