Local parochial school reflects our family's moderate conservative values. .....my school district spends $29+K/yr. to "educate" each kid vs. less than $10K in Florida.......the local HS has carefully fostered the myth regarding how good the school is...........completely false.......mediocre at best on multiple counts........discipline issues / bullying / open sex / drugs / fights / etc......large influx of people abandoning the city has had negative effects......just last fall a student knifed to death at Friday football game....all one can say is it is much better than Poughkeepsie....my neighbor's daughter got so fed up, she asked her father to get her out of there....he paid an additional $7.5K to send her to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic high school and they are not even Catholic. EVERYTHING about Lourdes is better.....he is leaving New Yorkistan (his words) as soon as she finishes high school.........I often point out all the educational issues on local Nextdoor and routinely get the "love it or leave it" refrain..........I'm the "bad" guy???
