I guess I am assuming that the Ukrainians will put up a protracted fight and sabotage whatever they can. The generation that was under soviet occupation is gone. The current generation may put up more of a fight. And the US will likely provide them with weapons as they did with the Afghans. Even if Ukraine surrenders, there may well be soldiers and civilians who will keep fighting. They may bomb the gas pipeline or whatever else they can.

This is a possibility that not many have considered. Of course, maybe Putin knows the Ukrainians better and has a good post invasion plan. Or maybe the Ukrainians have too much to loose and won't put up a fight. We'll have to wait and see.

There was too much invasion premium in the market before. At some point in time there will be too little.
