Two points that I have:

The flight from Afghanistan, Putin further conjectures, has made the United States both less feared by enemies and less trusted by allies.

This is a significantly overlooked point. The entire world saw the kind of leadership infecting America right now, and nobody will be pushed around.

Second:

He knows a twice-impeached Trump left office unpopular.

Trump left office magnitudes more popular than the incoming "President". I hate it when Conservatives gloss over the fact that this is an illegitimate Administration. The rest of the World certainly is not. Putin definitely is not.
