MSNBC regular Malcolm Nance, who has spent 36+ years in US intelligence, thinks the Chernobyl nuclear power plant "powers central North Ukraine."

"What does Putin want with Chernobyl?" a Twitter user asked Thursday after seeing news that President Zelensky claimed Russian forces were trying to seize the plant.

"It powers central North Ukraine," Nance responded in a now-deleted tweet



The Chernobyl disaster took place in 1986. The last remaining reactor was shut down in 2000.
