Let's take a recent example in ORCL (Orcale). They shocked the street with lousy earnings without guidance or fore warning. The stock tumbled for a few days to 18. They are now at 27!! Reason was Asia, although I doubt that to be the total case.

If you were smart enough to bail at 55 or 56, then you can wait. You could make a case of selling now. Frankly I'm looking of rthe dust to settle and go long on some long term call options. The thought of put's intrigue me, but the premium maybe to steep. In other words, it's too late.
