curious when the last time you were in Ukraine? About 20 years ago. The fucking US government confiscated my well worn passport, claiming it was damaged, and I lost a lot of my travel history, dates, visas, entry/exit stamps, etc. My replacement passport stated "replacement due to mutilated passport". Assholes.. Anyway, I was there before the Crimean takeover by Russia. Around the turn of the century, myself and a US friend of mine had some conversations with some Ukrainian friends in Yalta and Alushta.. ..regarding the potential of setting up tours for Western visitors. It's a very scenic and historically fascinating area. Luckily, due to the circumstances that followed, our tentative plans never got past the idea stage. Although many in Crimea had no problem with the Russian takeover, there are quite a few in the tourist industry there who are unhappy at lost business opportunities..
