EU is going to progressively delink from Russia and as they delink, they will ratchet up the heat. And unlike now, Putin won't have much to offer. They will be back to the Soviet Union era. Putin will have achieved his dream of resurrecting the soviet union with all that goes with it. But he will end up as a loser.

How bad it is going to get for Russia and its oligarchs? BP execs just resigned from Russian oil and BP is going to divest of its stake. Norway's sovereign wealth fund is going to divest of its assets. So we are not just talking about government sanctions. Private enterprises are getting in on it too. Russian assets, in short, are going to be worse than an ugly tar baby that nobody wants to touch. Even China has instructed the state banks not to fund Russian commodities.

There is absolutely no way that this escalation will end well for Putin, the oligarchs, Russia, or the world. The damage will be in that order. There will be so much wealth destruction and his cabal comrades will lose so much, that like that Blacklist episode, they will beg someone to throw Putin's body off an airplane because nobody will risk touching Russian assets so long as Putin is around.
