I have a Moldavian friend who emigrated after living in Moscow and Ukraine. She's not a big Russian fan. Then again, in her shoes I probably wouldn't be either. She told me the story of living with her grandparents in Moscow and they woke one morning to a currency devaluation...Ruble cut in half and they went from thinking retirement to thinking survival.
