Yes. I he has miscalculated. He should have declared victory after he recognized the breakaway provinces. But he had to overplay his hand. I fear that now the die is cast. I am not hearing much in the way of we'd like to give him a chance to back down so we can remove the sanctions. It is likely to be a one way street for escalations.

Biden said something scary the other day. I hope that he did not mean it or that it was a ploy. He said that Putin's ambitions are greater than just Ukraine. Part of me worries about Putin wanting to test how dedicated NATO is to its ex-soviet members. I wonder if there are people in Kremlin who are on the look out to wrestle Putin to the ground if he goes bonkers - the way that some in Trump WH were thinking of dong that. There is little news about the Putin's mental state and those of his inner circle.
