And I am saying that he might get all that. But even if he does, he will end up in an unmarked grave b/c every oligarch will keep losing money and their toys until Putin is gone for good.

Think about it. Assume that Putin gets everything he wants in Ukraine: Ukraine is split into parts. The eastern parts join the Union State. The middle part is a buffer zone. The western part is "free". And none have an army. Then what? Do you think that sanctions will get removed or get worse? Do you think that there will be any foreign investments in Russia? EU has already banned Russian flights from its airspace.

At best, Russia will be the same as it was during the soviet era and Russia will be a much smaller more or less self contained with some relations with China and a few developing nations. At worst, the West will keep supplying and guiding dissidents within the countries aligned with Russia until there are riots and mayhem everywhere and this 2nd union will break into pieces. The best and most likely solution will be someone literally ditching Putin in an unmarked grave to bring about a regime change and back away from everything that is happening now.
