The market appears to not be taking too kindly Russia's going to Defcon 2. If Putin does not win in Ukraine, and if EU and USA remain united on wrecking the Russian economy then he won't, then he will be deposed, probably fatally. That makes him desperate, but I don't think his minions will carry out his desperation.
