The problem is history. A lot of Ukrainians remember how their people were treated by the old USSR. Stalin committed genocide against them. Millions of Ukrainians were shot, died of exposure or starved to death by the Totalitarian communist dictatorship. They to this day hate Russia and hate Putin. Look up the Holodomor.
