If I had to bet, I'd say that even if Putin loses this round, Russia is NOT done with Ukraine and neither is NATO.
I'll take you up on that bet. To me, this IS Putin's one and only chance, because if he fails now, all of Europe would be galvanized against him. Even China would be like "Nope, you made your own bed, you sleep in it."
