Melissa, I'm also relatively new at this. As for your first question, both E*Trade and Datek charge a commission for all trades of a given security (there are some exceptions). What broker are you using? As for weekly profit, if I were to trade full time then I'd want to make at least $1k-2k per week (otherwise, I have no reason to quit my day job). Everyone sets their own personal goals. And rather than use points, why not use an absolute dollar amount or a percentage? ...tai
