On day 6 the mood seems to be changing. No more stories about the Russians failing and being killed in large numbers - or about some peasant with a tractor stealing their tanks. The mood is turning somber - do we fight, or do we submit to their demands? Civilian population is suffering. There are many calls for establishing a “no flight” zone - but the US is not biting - thankfully. That’s an immediate major escalation. With all the emotional and material support, in the end Ukraine is alone. They’ll need to try making the best deal they can.
