Exaxctly. It's a discussion board. There's gotta be something to discuss, not just a stock ticker.

And I think comparing someone's suggestion to alternative investment options is worthwhile. What we are all going investing in stock's is determining which of the thousands of stock picks are going to get any portion of our investment.

If someone has decided ABC is a good pick, they should be able to make the case that it is better than XYZ, because they've (evidently) chosen to invest in ABC rather than XYZ.

I doubt anyone can come up with a stock pick that's much better than UAN at the moment. UAN is probably going to pay out $50 over the next two years, and it's unit price today is $112. Can anyone beat that?
