It sure took you a long time to come to that conclusion. Trading on margin is fine when rates are at 0 for an extended period of time and times are good. But when rates are rising the leveraged must delever unless they want to pay a higher interest expense and possibly get a margin call in a down market.That's why markets head lower in anticipation of the beginning of the Fed rate hiking cycle.
