Putin is NOT crazy and the Russian invasion is NOT failing. The West's delusions about this war - and its failure to understand the enemy - will prevent it from saving Ukraine, writes military analyst BILL ROGGIO

Putin's key demands of removing NATO influences and investments in Ukraine requires controlling the entire country and destroying that infrastructure, not a minor incursion that Biden begged for.

It doesn't make a lot of sense to claim Ukraine's government and military would collapse soon after invasion. They've been mostly pursed of ethnic Russians. It's not the same as 2014 when the coup and revolution led to a civil war where army splintered into East and West. Hence, Kiev had to send in the neo-Nazi strongarm outfits to try to secure Crimea, Odessa, and Donetsk.
