Absolutely agree - that’s why I called the erroneous belief about war being good for the economy just a variation of the Broken Window fallacy. Post war restoration requires a huge effort and expenditures - but, basically, all it accomplishes is a restoration of the status quo ante. Just like replacing a broken window. Hence, that view is wrong.

What’s important - and what I was arguing in favor of - is having a sensible, balanced system of solving international tensions - in order to prevent war. That’s what foreign policy, for the most part, is supposed to be about.
