In that time frame, there have been 8 recessions. I count 16 times the indicator has moved above 70. So the false positive rate is 50%. The false negative rate is low. This is like a lab test, which always says the patient has cancer. Every test in every patient. It will not miss any cancers, but is not a useful test.
