Hi Bonefish, It'll never happen, but if we showed up with enough awac's to be in the air 24/7, with euroland's french fighters and UK's jets to see if the migs want to dick around, then we'd have reason for the F35's to throw a surprise party. Drop a few Migs and the A10's could put on a show. Putin would lose his tank fleets in a foreign land and it would be a graveyard before the support forces ran home. Lesson learned, as the B52 with nukes stayed in the air over Germany and doing ovals that aim straight to Moscow. Peace through force and China would crawl back in their hole. It's what needs to be dome to an aggressor of the modern world. Ask Saddam Hussein! I suspect Putin's Generals can put two and two together. Destroy his land army and give him the bill for our forces to practice over Russia, or worry about their populations well being.
