Last week was such a strong up-week, I decided to go back and
compare it with previous weeks. I have weekly closing data going
back to 4/18/97. By "eyeballing" the graphs of the 37 stocks I have
been listing each week, I had previously chosen the closing prices
for the week of 4/25/97 as the low point for the group. The data
seems to verify that choice since there was a drop of 3 percent for
the week of 4/25 compared to 4/18. From the close on 4/25, the
group had a strong upward movement as shown by the data in the
following table.

For following week which closed on 5/2, the group went up 15 percent.
The group continued its steady rise until the week closing 8/22,
with the exception of the 2 weeks closing 6/6 and 6/13. From 8/22 to
the week closing 10/10, the group had essentially a flat top. Then
the group started downward with a vengeance which lasted until the
week closing 12/12. There was a one week "bounce" of 8 percent for
the week closing 12/19. Since that time until the close of week 1/30,
the group average has essentially been flat.

Now we look again at the week closing 2/6. The gain of 11 percent
for the group is the highest since the week closing 5/2, almost
exactly 9 months ago. Does this last week portend the start of
another 3 month run of ever increasing group prices that was started
on 5/2/97? If so, it would be the right time to invest. It would be
great to hear some opinions on the forward looking possibilities.
Anyone care to comment?
