Well, from last week where it looked like things were only “just barely” bad, we follow with a week where it’s pretty clear that it was bad. Though some individual stocks did have a good week, only 40 out of the 189 chosen stocks were in the black for the week, (27 for YTD). Overall with losses of around 5 — 5.5% (median — avg), the contest portfolios still “outperforms" the Standard & Poor Biotech Stock index. Only two contestants: (TECHNETIUM and KMASTRA) managed to be in the black for the week.

It looks like a year when everyone is retreating to places of safety, be it bonds, cash, gold, or, not in my portfolio, cryptocurrency. Biotech is probably not high on the list of a “safe haven.”

XFOR will present at the Annual Cowen Healthcare Conference on March 15th.

NCNA stopped their Phase III trial in biliary tract cancer “following a pre-planned futility analysis by the study's Independent Data Monitoring Committee (IDMC).”

In other words, no joy.
