I don't think the US should play hostage to a madman who threatens to use nuclear weapons. Do I think he would do it? I don't know. But I do know one should not kowtow to a madman and play scared. Putin feeds off the fear. When someone confronts you like that, the response should be measured, but swift. No backing off.
