I am agnostic, but am told that China shall be good partner of Ukraine, to enable Ukraine to BBB (build-back-better) assuming the tyrannical Team Russia does to Ukraine what they did not do to Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria, are not doing in Yemen, and still not angling to do in Venezuela and Iran

China did and does well following the boot-on-the-ground tracks of Team USA, in lockstep almost, to rebuild rebuild rebuild, and arguably might do well following Team Russia, to do same, rebuild. Teams Russia and USA do generate quite a bit of rebuilding imperatives, whereas the war-like CCP China China China has proven totally inept at the generation of pre-disposition to rebuild, and only fair at rebuilding.

Ukraine already was and remains a part of the Belt & Road Initiative and did okay by it, until got sidetracked to joining NATO and then got rug-pulled, I read. Arguable.

Needless, because too late, but perhaps the war would not have happened had the Ukrainian leadership steered the population to remain focused on BRI.

We keep open minds
