IMO it’s time to call Putin on his stance wrt Ukraine in NATO. If there is any desire to still bring a quick end to this conflict I think one of the worlds leaders - like Biden, yah right - needs to propose to Putin that US support for Ukraine in NATO is over. Make it clear the Ukraine will not be part of NATO. He gets what he wants. Period. Then, if he doesn’t remove himself the entire world will know it’s not about NATO. That’s when you know it’s bigger than you hoped and it’s time for a bigger international presence. If he pulls out it’s over and it goes back to normal. More or less.

I think it’s imperative to find out immediately if there is any quick end to this, rather than letting a civilian crisis develop in Europe.
