A billion investment is peanuts for this amount of return. As someone said recently, its a no-brainer someone will buy AMD if their stock gets much lower. Also, a single 6000 wafer fab is enough: 6000 wafers/week * 350 candidate_CPU/wafer * 52 weeks * 60% mature_process_yield = 65 MILLION CPU's or 65% of the world market.
