Yes. 100MHz SDRAM operate well within spec on a 66MHz bus. Things will
get tricky with the 100MHz bus, since some SDRAM will be operating at the
limit of their specs.

Of course you can put the 100mhz Sdram in the 440LX chipset motherboards and it will run...but it will only run at 66mhz. It is a non-issue. They will also run in the pentium motherboards with a 430TX chipset and even the cheap 430VX chipset. In fact most SDRAM sold TODAY will adequately run at 100MHZ or faster, but their is no capability.

Maybe you are talking about that cheap Korean garbage that is being dumped on the market that will not run properly at 100mhz, that some forever bears keep saying is competition with MU.<G>

The true advantage of SDRAM over DRAM is its benefit to adequately operate at 100mhz and the -10 and -12 will have no problem.

Now the limiting factor to get to 100mhz memory speeds is of course the chipset on the Pentium II motherboards. The 440LX only is being sold to run at 66MHZ.(Although some manufacturers allow settings up to 83MHZ and some even secretly to 100MHZ...but realistically until the 440BX chipset is installed on the Motherboard with the true pc100 capability no memory will be running at 100mhz.

Now with Pentiums oddly enough, they were never designed to run at 100MHZ and therefore will not run at 100MHZ even though a board might have the capability...But...the K6 in the socket 7 configuration does run at 100MHZ so you might see an AMD chipset for that processor.
